In October 2019 ENGIE New Ventures participated in this European event for connecting high-tech companies with international investors.

ENGIE is a global reference in low-carbon energy and services – and has been our partner already at HTVD17, HTVD18 & HTVD19. In response to the urgency of climate change, its ambition is to become the world leader in the carbon-neutral transition of our customers, in particular industries, building owners/operators and local communities. ENGIE relies on its key businesses (renewable energy, gas, services) to offer competitive turnkey solutions “as a service”.

The Group works closely together with innovators to design innovative solutions that will contribute to a large scale energy revolution. Its corporate venture fund ENGIE New Ventures was launched in 2014 and has invested in 25 ventures to date and more than 106 Calls for Projects have been launched on ENGIE’s Open Innovation platform to search for new solutions and collaborations which can enhance ENGIE’s offers and operations.

Yohann Boukhors, ENGIE New Ventures Managing Director and Csilla Kohalmi-Monfils, Director of Innovation at ENGIE: “In the last years, HTVD has been a key platform to meet interesting and relevant startups for our businesses. Technology is changing fast, and innovation in our operations, business models and solutions offered is critical to stay ahead in the marketplace”.

The key theme this year  was Zero Carbon Transition AAS (as a service), in line with ENGIE’s strategic directions :

  • Carbon neutral buildings and industries,
  • Green gases including biomethane and Hydrogen,
  • Carbon utilization technologies,
  • Distributed energy, storage, and demand response.
