ENGIE New Ventures is the CVC fund of ENGIE, and created over a decade ago. It takes minority ownership in early-stage innovative startups globally, that are active in the energy transition space.
Such investments are due to materially leverage a preferred and strategic partnership with ENGIE’s business units, with an objective to build a competitive advantage and be materially contributive to ENGIE’s EBIT. Any investment decision relies on a collaboration roadmap foreseeing a pilot on ENGIE’s operations and, if successful, industrialization onto our assets (so as to preferably become a standard).
Once strategic ambitions are achieved, technology is derisked and commercial traction is met, we aim at divesting and recycle the capital into other innovative startups aligned with strategic priorities.
We started this business model more than a decade ago, and currently have over 20 startups in portfolio. 1-5M€ tickets.
